EDUCATION IS WHAT REMAINS AFTER ONE HAS FORGOTTEN WHAT ONE HAS LEARNED IN SCHOOL

Albert Einstein is famous for being one of the greatest minds of our time.  what he said about school education?

EDUCATION IS WHAT REMAINS AFTER ONE HAS FORGOTTEN WHAT ONE HAS LEARNED IN SCHOOL.”

Learning is not limited to school textbooks and curriculums.

Life itself is our learning platform. Recent studies says that by 2030 around 40% jobs will be completely vanished for which we are preparing our kids today.

1 billion kids are in the race to lead the world in coming future. Are we skilling them in right way to life socially and emotionally a productive life in 21st century?

This is not the time to shielding them,

This is the time to skilling them with right ways to live a successful Holistic lifestyle which is not possible to get by only cramming their heads with facts, figures and formulas.

Here is the need to understand the importance of Lifeskills.

The term ‘Lifeskills’ refers to the skills you need to make the most out of life.

Any skill that is useful in your life can be considered a life skill. Tying your shoe laces, swimming, driving a car and using a computer are, for most people, useful life skills. Broadly speaking, the term ‘life skills’ is usually used for any of the skills needed to deal well and effectively with the challenges of life.

And as we don’t learn these shoes tying lessons, swimming and car driving lessons by reading and learning facts about these, similarly we can’t learn basic life lessons through moral stories.

We need a proper curriculum and platform of practical application to develop these skills.

Life skills go hand in hand with development and can assist students to succeed later in life. Life skills are recognized as those essential skills that bring together the social, emotional, and cognitive capacities of a person to solve problems and achieve goals. The list of beneficial lifelong learning skills one can have is broad and diverse, and it pays to develop them continuously.

WHO, UNICEF, NEP, etc. are emphasizing on these skills a lot and now it is each individual’s responsibility to Teach, Learn and Apply these life skills as a foundation of our Learning for our future generation?

As Mark Twain once said, “Don’t let schooling interfere with your education”
